simple last minute ghost costume

So I'm not crafty, but Taylor decided last night that he wanted to be a ghost for Halloween. Great! That's easy. But he's just little, so I wanted to come up with a solution that that looked cute, but wasn't over his face. I'm not very good at sewing, so I'm always trying to think of how to do things the easy way. This morning I found a solution that was SO easy that I feel it is my duty to share it with you.

Materials:
White t-shirt
it can even have a print on it, but the neck needs to be white. For Taylor, I used one of mine. It worked a little better than his and when Halloween's over I'll just snip the thread and have my shirt back.
White sheet
Scissors
needle and thread (optional)

Step one: put the t-shirt over head halfway. Leave the neck of the shirt to snugly (but not too snugly) fit around your child's face. The front of the shirt will hang below the chin and the back will cover his head. Having the t-shirt under the fabric helps prevent the costume from slipping off.

Step Two: fold the sheet into fourths to locate the center and cut a SMALL hole. Unfold the sheet and gradually cut until the hole fits just around the child's face. Not so tight that it squashes his face. It should fit comfortably above his forehead and under his chin, just along the neck of the t-shirt.

Step 3: At this point I used a needle and thread to sew a few parts of the sheet to the t-shirt, just along the neck of the shirt and hole in the sheet. Just so the sheet doesn't slip back over his head. You could probably forgo this step if necessary.

Step 4: Trim the bottom of the sheet of hover just above the ground.

Done!

I'd post more pictures, but my camera died just after I took this so this is all I've got.
He's been dancing around in this all morning. And now Jack wants to be a ghost too.

PS I know, this is not original. It's just a more child-friendly variation than I could find online.

oh. And it was SO funny last night. I was laying on my bed listing costume ideas to Taylor and when I said ghost he was like "YEAH! an' I go WoooWoo!" he said dramatically. Kev and I both pretended to be terrified, so he continued doing it and we pretended to get increasingly scared. Suddenly Taylor's expression went from happy to seriously frightened and he scrambled up onto the bed and into my arms "I scare...mysehwf!" he said. Kev and I laughed and laughed. He is so darn cute sometimes. funny funny kid.
