anything but that!

Tonight as I was getting Taylor ready for bed, he noticed a jar of apricots that I had sitting on the kitchen counter.  This is the conversation that followed:

Tays: Mom, tan I hab some a dose?
Me: No, Tays, it's time for bed, we already ate and now it's time to sleep.
Tays: (getting upset) But I jus want some right now.
Me:  No, but I'll give some to you in the morning.  I'll leave them right there and when you wake up you will see the jar and remember that it's time to have some. Okay?
Tays:(with a stern look) But mom, if you don't let me hab dem...I'll wet the bed!

Kevin and I couldn't stop laughing about it.  Our laughter wasn't what he was expecting, and he appreciated that he'd amused us and forgot all about the apricots.

Oh, Tays, you wicked boy.  You would wet the bed.
(and have, actually, for the past two nights, darn it...though I'm sure those were just unprovoked accidents)

But still I love you.  Because you're really REALLY sweet and funny, even when your going for intimidation.

  2. That is so funny and terrible all at the same time! I would be so mad. My Mei would be just the one to say something like that too!

  6. brynn - I know, right. It's a lucky accident if their pajama tops and bottoms happen to coordinate=) I know...it's tacky but they don't care and I'm learning not to care either.
