two recommendations for you

This book:

I finished this yesterday and thought it was really good.  At first I wasn't all that into it, but it was entertaining enough to keep me reading.  In the end I just keep thinking about it. Kev is probably sick of me talking about it.  It's great for parents, but I think anyone would gain something from reading it.  I checked it out from my local library, so if your local, you can pick it up there in about a week...assuming I return it on time.

And this sushi place:
A trusted foodie friend recommended this place to us saying "the grand canyon roll will blow your mind."  it. was. so. good.  So good, in fact, that we went back again the next night with Kristen and Gavin.  And we're going back again this week.  What we loved: The grand canyon (truly mind-blowing), the rising sun, the mango tango, the baked halibut roll, and there were more...but I can't remember them.  The sweet honey roll was really good for dessert.  The great news: they're remodeling their storefront, so all of their specialty rolls (all of the ones I just mentioned included) are half price for another month or so.  It's already reasonably priced, so half off means Kevin and I both got our fill for about $25 total.  Mmmm.

  1. Thank you Natalie for The Talent Code recommendation. And then after reading several reviews on Amazon I had to order myself a copy. I learned so much from Outliers and loved it, so I should probably enjoy this one too (according to many of the reviewers). Can't wait to start reading.

  2. Grandma Honey made the mistake of laying the Talent Code on the table where I could find it. I'm about half way through and really hooked. I wish I would have had this information when my kids were young...or even when I was a teenager. I think I'm going to buy this book as a gift to our adult children.
I should be finished by tomorrow so then my wife can have her copy back.
    Thanks for the suggestion.

  3. I just started the Talent Code- thank you for the suggestion. It's quite good. Might I recommend the book Nurture Shock to you. Along many of the same lines, but not just about 'talent'.
